Grant Walsh

Dr Grant (Wally) Walsh is experienced in the areas of leadership, operations management, training and capability development. His experience spans a 28-year military career and engagement in both government and non-government sectors.
In the commercial world, Grant has been employed in and consulted to the Oil and Gas sector, Construction, Fabrication and Mining industries in Australia and overseas in the fields of Leadership Development, Security and Emergency/Crisis Management as well as Health and Safety.
Grant’s military experience was primarily with Australian Special forces in a range of leadership and staff appointments. These included planning and deploying on operations in East Timor, the Middle East and Afghanistan, as well as leadership roles in Australia’s counter terrorism framework. He was recognised in the 2003 Australia Day Honours list for his leadership in Special Operations. Grant’s other engagement in government has included roles supporting Veteran’s and Indigenous Affairs.
Through many years of international engagements, Grant has developed cross-cultural competence in diverse environments. His experience has involved direct engagement at leadership, workforce and community levels associated with Australian Indigenous communities, South East, Central and Northern Asian states, Middle East and South West Pacific cultures.
Grant has graduate and post-graduate qualifications in Science, Management and Leadership. He has a Doctorate in the field of natural resource management.
